NEW DELHI: Chetan Sharma, chief selector of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has tendered his resignation amid row over his alleged remarks in a sting operation. BCCI treasurer Ashish Shelar informed that Sharma has resigned.
Sharma sent his resignation to BCCI secretary Jay Shah and it has been accepted.

He was caught in a controversy after he revealed selection matters during a sting operation conducted by a TV channel. In the sting operation, Sharma made some explosive remarks on Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and some others. Sharma has also revealed about the future of Malayalee cricketer Sanju Samson. Ishaan Kishan and Shubman Gill's double centuries and good form are a threat to players including Sanju Samson. Chetan Sharma said the careers of Sanju, K L Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan are in danger.
He also alleged that a lot of players take injections to expedite their return o competitive cricket despite being 80 to 85 % fit.
