RIYADH: After the start of the Umrah season, 48 lakh pilgrims have come to the country, Saudi Arabia said. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has released the figures for the six months since last July. 48,40,764 people came to Saudi for pilgrimage. Of these, 4,258,151 people returned home after performing Umrah.
Of these, 43.29 lakh pilgrims reached Saudi Arabia by air, 5.07 lakh by land and 3,985 by ship. An increase in the number of Hajj pilgrims has been recorded after the restrictions imposed during the Covid period were lifted.
