Will pray for destruction of atheist community: Suresh Gopi courts controversy

ALUVA: BJP leader Suresh Gopi has courted controversy with his recent comments at Aluva. The actor-turned-politician said he won't tolerate any powers intruding to topple people's beliefs. He also said that he will pray in front of any deity to erase the whole community of atheists from the world. Mr. Gopi was speaking at a function organized as part of the Mahasivaratri festival.

He said “ We are people with beliefs, but we are not inflicting harm on anyone. But the atheist communities and rationals are simply triggering a fight creating unrest by making jibes over our beliefs. such a happening won't be tolerated and such people don't dream of living a happy life.”

The BJP leader then praised the diversity and the inclusiveness of Kerala. He told people to teach their children the basics of religion which will ensure proper manners and discipline. The BJP leader also said people to revere the Bible and Quran.
