THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Youth Congress’ march to the Cliff House turned violent on Wednesday. The march was staged in protest against the assault towards their workers. The police used water cannons and resorted to lathicharge towards them. The protestors were wearing black clothes.

The police had stopped the protest march with barricades in Devaswom Board Junction. However, when the youth congress activists tried to topple the barricade, a fight broke out between the police and the activists. In order to disperse them, the police used water cannons and resorted to lathicharge. One activist sustained injuries in the scuffle.
