KOCHI: Actor and anchor Subi Suresh, who died of liver ailments, was consigned to flames at the Cheranalloor Crematorium. She was cremated with full state honours. The body was brought to the crematorium after keeping the body at Varappuzha Puthenpally Auditorium for the people to pay homage. The body kept in the mortuary of a private hospital in Aluva was brought to her house in Koonammavu at 8 am this morning. The body was kept here for two hours.
Many including her fans and colleagues paid their last respects to her. Many from the serial industry arrived to pay homage.
A native of Tripunithura, Subi has been living in Thirumuppam, Varapuzha for some time. She is the daughter of late Suresh and Ambika. She was unmarried. She died unexpectedly while in hospital due to liver ailments. The disease had affected her kidneys. The institutional board of the hospital had completed the procedures for liver transplant. The death occurred while the application was being considered by the state medical board yesterday.
She started her career as a mimicry artist in the Cochin Kalabhavan troupe years ago, she gradually created a niche for herself in the male-dominated comedy shows on stage and in television. She won the hearts of audiences through her hilarious avatars in famous TV series like Cinemala. She started her film career through the movie Kanakasimhasanam, Subi Suresh essayed small but memorable roles in over 20 films, including Elsamma Enna Aankutty and Happy Husbands.
She leaves behind her mother and brother.
