Allegation of immoral activities and sale of drugs; Students to move court against former principal

m-rema

KASARAGOD: The students are planning to move the court against the remarks of M Rema, former principal of Kasaragod Government College, who was removed from her post for locking them up when complained about dirt in drinking water. Rema had alleged that questioning the sale of drugs which is active in the campus and immoral activities under the leadership of SFI, are the reasons for the allegations against her. The students are planning to take legal action against this.

The incident started last Monday. When the students came to her to complain about dirt in the water purifier installed in the campus, the principal did not like the students sitting in front of her and also told them to drink that water only. When the students decided that they would not leave without finding a solution to the drinking water problem, Principal M Rema came out and locked up around fifteen students inside the chamber. The students also complained that she abused them.

The government had removed Rema from the post after the SFI besieged her. Rema had alleged that she was removed from the post without hearing her version. She also stated that she is firm in the case against the students. A case has been registered against 60 students on Rema's complaint.
