Lover and brother kidnap youth in capital city, loot gold and cash

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An expat youth who arrived at the Thiruvananthapuram airport, was kidnapped and looted by his girlfriend, her brother and some others. Muhaidin Abdul Khader (44), a native of Thakala in Tamil Nadu, was the victim of robbery. The youth complained that they tied him up and then robbed off his money and gold, at a resort in Chirayinkeezhu. The Shankhumukham police arrested six people including his girlfriend Insha, the first accused in the case.

The incident happened on February 22. The gang abducted Abdul Khader from the Thiruvananthapuram airport. Abdul Qader and Insha lived together in the Gulf. The accused told police that the reason for the abduction was the youth’s withdrawal from the relationship. They demanded one crore as compensation to end the relationship, but when he refused to pay the money, they abducted him.

The youth was directly taken to the resort in Chirayinkeezhu from the airport and locked him up in the room for two days. In the meanwhile, they robbed Rs 15.70 lakh, gold and two mobile phones. They also made him sign in stamp paper and later abandoned him in front of the airport. The youth then filed a complaint with the police. His complaint said they even attacked him.

The accused arrested will be produced in the court. The woman arrested in the case is housed in women’s police station and the others at Shangumugham station.
