KOCHI: Reports said Biju Kurian, part of the farmers team who went missing in Israel, is likely to return to the state tomorrow. The team were sent to Israel to study the modern farming trends. Reports said Biju will board the flight to India from Tel Aviv. However, no confirmation has been obtained.
Biju went missing on February 17. It is said that he fled from the hotel to visit the holy places in Israel. He visited Jerusalem on the first day and then to Bethlehem. His plan was to spend a day in Bethlehem and then to join the farmers’ team and return to Kerala. In the meantime, the whole team returned to Kerala. He also expressed apology for the controversies related to him. The report said he tendered apology to the state government as well as Agriculture Minister P Prasad for the embarrassment caused by him.
Meanwhile, the news of Biju’s return came when the government was taking steps to cancel his visa. The government decided to send a letter to the Indian Embassy in Israel to cancel his visa and to send him back.
