THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Administration reforms commission's suggestion to allow the fourth Saturday as a holiday for government employees was snubbed by Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Earlier, the NGO union and the Secretariat service commission showed apprehension regarding the suggestion after which the CM decided to make null such moves. The government initially planned to allow one more holiday to regulate the special recruitment of government employees that have turned rampant.
The chief secretary initially proposed a plan that saw the working time being extended to 15 more minutes for the employees with an additional leave on the fourth Saturday of every month. The suggestions also went afar bringing down the annual leaves from 20 to 18. The left union was quick to react with disapproval and asked the government to not approve the administrative commission's suggestions.
