THRISSUR: According to Minister PA Muhammad Riyas, the fact that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is coming to Kerala to hold a political briefing conference a day after the Janakeeya Prathirodha Jatha led by MV Govindan arrives in Thrissur indicates that the political issue raised by the Jatha is very strong. He also said that it is clear why Amit Shah did not come to defend when the Congress organised Bharat Jodo Yatra.
The Janakeeya Prathirodha Jatha will tour Thrissur on the 4th, 5th and 6th of March. Amit Shah will come to Kochi on March 5. He will also participate in the BJP rally in Thrissur. Minister Riyas was indicating this in his speech.
He also alleged that the Centre is attempting to saffronise Doordarshan and Akashvani by designating Hindustan Samachar, a pro-RSS agency, as the sole news source of state-run broadcaster Prasar Bharati.
"This is a move to destroy the country's secularism. This action is part of the Sangh Parivar's long-term agenda," Riyas said.
