AMARAVATI: Government to build 3000 temples to protect the Hindu faith. Andhra Pradesh government has come out with such an announcement. The government's action is to ensure that every district in the state has a temple. Deputy Chief Minister Kottu Satyanarayana informed that the scheme was announced on the instructions of Chief Minister VES Jagan Mohan Reddy to protect and propagate the Hindu faith. It was also informed that the construction of places of worship in the state has been undertaken in a big way. According to Satyanarayana, the construction of temples has started in the areas to preserve and propagate the Hindu faith on a large scale. Ten lakh rupees each have been sanctioned for the construction of each temple in the name of Sri Vani Trust of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. It was earlier decided to build 1,330 temples in the state. But now 1,465 more have been added to this list. Also, 200 more temples will be constructed as per the demand of some MLAs. The construction of the temples will be done with the help of other voluntary organizations.
The minister said that the construction of 978 temples is going on at a fast pace under the leadership of the endowment department and an assistant engineer has been assigned to oversee the construction of every 25 temples.
