Earthquake hits Afghanistan’s Fayzabad

KABUL: An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 occurred in Fayzabad, Afghanistan at 2.35 am on Thursday. No casualties or damages were reported. The epicenter of the earthquake was reported to be 267 kms northeast of Fayzabad at a depth of 245 km. Earthquake occurred in Afghanistan on the 23rd of last month. The epicenter of the earthquake was 265 km away from Fayzabad at that time also.

More than 1,000 people died and more than 600 were injured in the earthquake in Afghanistan in June last year. Paktika and Khost provinces which were near Pakistan border suffered heavy damages. Afghanistan experienced the most dangerous earthquake in 20 years.
