crime

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The DGP has ordered a crime branch investigation against former CI AV Saiju, who is accused in four cases, including two sexual abuse cases. The investigation was handed over to the Crime Branch after the DGP severely criticized Thiruvananthapuram Rural SP D Shilpa for not arresting the CI. Saiju was the district leader of Police Officers Association.

Saiju, who has been on the run for months and has been in hiding for several months, was again involved in the case of abusing a woman doctor and a family friend and also accused for forging a document to obtain bail in one of these cases. The police say that they could not find his hideout. But it is reported that he used to visit his friends' houses. It was found that Saiju misused his official position by using his own daughter to file a false case against a complainant and her husband and extorted money from the doctor who was accused of sexual abuse. The sexual abuse cases are on the complaint of a female doctor in Malayinkeezhu and a teacher in Nedumangad.
