NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao's daughter and Legislative Council member K Kavitha in the liquor policy case. A notice was issued asking her to appear at the ED office in Delhi tomorrow.

Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) leader Kavitha was interrogated by the CBI for more than seven hours on December 12. The Enforcement Directorate is investigating allegations of money laundering related to the liquor policy.

Malayali businessman Arun Ramachandra Pillai, who was arrested by the ED on Tuesday on charges including money laundering, is Kavitha's business partner. Arun was remanded in ED custody till the 13th of this month on Tuesday by the Delhi Rouse Avenue Court.

Arun, who is based in Hyderabad, was arrested by the investigation team after a long interrogation. His land worth more than two crore was confiscated earlier. Arun Ramachandran Pillai is the fourteenth accused in the case. Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is the first accused in the case. Sisodia was interrogated by ED for six hours in Tihar Jail last day.

Meanwhile, the allegations against the chief minister's daughter have been raised in Telangana as assembly elections are scheduled to be held this year. It is indicated that BJP's decision is to strengthen this in the campaign.
