Intoxicated police officers come to blows at promotion party in Pathanamthitta, suspended

PATHANAMTHITTA: Police officers reportedly came to blows in a promotion party organized by a police official. After the top officials came to know about it, an ASI and a police driver were suspended by Pathanamthitta SP. The action was taken against ASI Giri and police driver John Philip.

The incident took place during a party held at a auditorium in Mylapra by a police officer who had been promoted as Special Branch SI. The problems allegedly started after the use of some intoxicants to 'boost' the party vibe. Following this, the ASI and the police driver revealed some things in the past. That matter was about fueling vehicles for free at a petrol pump. The dispute regarding this later came to blows and their friends had to intervene to calm down the situation, but after a while, the fight broke out again. Later, somehow, the friends pacified both of them and put them on two sides. Immediately after the incident, superior officers came to know about it.
