KOCHI: The state is experiencing a big shortage of stamp papers of low denominations including Rs 50, 100, and 200, which is turning out to be a cause of concern for the officials. For one month and more, the district treasuries are not getting any stamp papers to proceed with work. The stamps printed from Nashik are crammed up in Thiruvananthapuram central stamp depot. With the employees in the district stamp depot showing lax, the people and the vendors involved are facing the brunt.
For school certificate copies and for death and birth certificates, the Rs 500 stamp paper is used.
For water connection, electricity connection, and for vehicle contact, Rs200 stamp paper is used.
For company partnership registration, Rs 5000 stamp paper is used.
