Govt issues show cause notice to Ciza Thomas for assuming KTU VC position without prior approval

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Government to take further action against Technical University Vice Chancellor Dr. Ciza Thomas. The Higher Education Secretary has issued a notice to Ciza Thomas asking her to show cause for assuming the post of VC without prior approval. The show cause notice is issued after five months of appointment.

Rejecting the names given earlier by government, the governor appointed Ciza Thomas as the vice-chancellor. Recently, Ciza was transferred from the post of Joint Director of the Technical Education Department. No alternate posting was given. Subsequently, on the complaint filed by Ciza, the Administrative Tribunal ordered her to be appointed in Thiruvananthapuram. Ciza Thomas has been replaced by Dr. MS Rajashree, who was disqualified from the post of KTU VC by the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, if the appointment in the technical education department is outside Thiruvananthapuram district, technical problems are likely to arise.
