Unnatural sexual offence: Madrassa teacher sentenced to 53 years of rigorous imprisonment for abusing minor

THRISSUR: A madrassa teacher has been sentenced to 53 years of rigorous imprisonment for the unnatural sexual abuse of a minor boy. Kundamkulam POCSO Court pronounced the verdict against Siddique Baqavi, a native of Ottapalam. Apart from rigorous imprisonment, he has to pay a fine of Rs 60,000.

According to the case, Siddique had abused a minor boy several times at a madrassa in Pannithadam since January 2019. The court observed that teachers who are supposed to behave like parents are sending a wrong message to society through such acts.
