Kudumbasree members missing Minister's function will pay Rs 100 fine; CPI leader's threatening audio leaked

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An audio of a panchayat member got leaked saying all Kudumbasree members had to be present for a bridge inauguration ceremony or else pay a fine. Anad panchayat member and CPI leader Sreeja gave the threatening message on a WhatsApp group. Minister of public works, Muhhamed Riyas was set to inaugurate a bridge near Pazhakutty in Nedumangad.

According to the voice note,

“ Beloved members, the coming Sunday is the inauguration date of the bridge near Pazhukutty in Nedumangad. Minister Riyas and Minister G R Anil will be present. The bridge is in our ward. So no Kudumbasree meeting should be held on Sunday. If the meeting is very needed, then make it on Saturday. On Sunday, everyone needs to be present at the function. The members going absent will need to pay a fine of Rs 100”

After the issue got into the limelight, the member escaped with banal statements saying she only wanted more participation in the function.
