ALLEPPEY: Party State Secretary MV Govindan gives warning against sectarianism in CPM in Kuttanad. He was speaking at the reception of the Janakeeya Prathirodha Jatha in Alappuzha. MV Govindan warned that wrong conduct will not be tolerated in CPM and no one will be allowed to challenge the party.

I know the problem in Kuttanad. If it functions well, it will last. Or it will be like a salt container. He said that those who left the party will be brought back and those who are staying away will be brought close. Govindan added that he will proceed with effective corrections and will not allow to act forgetting the people.

The party secretary's warning is when factionalism in the CPM in Kuttanad has escalated to street war. There was mass resignation from CPM in Kuttanad where sectarianism was rampant. More than 300 people resigned from various branches under the Kuttanad Area Committee. The state leadership had promised to intervene and resolve the grievances, but the dispute again escalated into conflict.
