LOS ANGELES: S S Rajamouli’s RRR created history by winning the Oscar for the song 'Naatu Naatu' for best original song. Music director M M Keeravani and Chandra Bose, who penned the song, received the award. Receiving the award, Keeravani said that he is presenting the award to India.

Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire, directed by Danny Boyle, was the first Hindi song to win an Academy Award in the best original score and original song categories. The song was composed by A R Rahman and penned by Gulzar.
Rahul Sipligunj and Kala Bhairava who sang the song Naatu Naatu performed the song at the Oscars ceremony. The two sang the song after actor Deepika Padukone spoke praising the song.
Meantime, Kartiki Gonsalves' and Guneet Monke’s ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ won the Oscars for the best documentary short subject. This documentary is set in Muthumala National Park, Tamil Nadu. This short film tells the story of Boman and Belly who raise a baby elephant named Raghu.
The event is held at the Dolby Theater in Ovation Hollywood, Los Angeles. Jamie Lee Curtis and Ke Huy Quan won the Oscar for best supporting actress and actpr for ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’.
