Didn't become country's entry, but became world's movie

RRR was among the films that competed to become India's official Oscar entry. But the Gujarati film Chhello Show was selected! Rajamouli did not back down. RRR's huge popularity abroad gave Rajamouli the courage to compete at the Oscars. While Chhello Show competed for Best Foreign Language Film, RRR competed on its own in the mainstream category which includes Hollywood films!

There was also a big campaign on foreign social media. It was the response of the fans all over the world that took RRR to the Oscars. The film had a record collection in Japan and other countries. Roudram Ranam Rudhiram (RRR) is a big-budget film directed by Rajamouli after Baahubali. Made on a budget of 450 crores, the film stars Ramcharan and Jr. NTR in lead roles and tells the story of freedom fighters Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr. NTR.) in the 1920s. They led the tribal struggles in Telangana before independence. Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgan, and British actress Daisy Edgar Jones also played the lead roles. Tamil actors Samuthirakani and Shriya Saran played other roles.

The crew of Baahubali is also behind this film. Cinematography KK Senthilkumar, Production Designer Sabu Cyril, Story V Vijayendra Prasad, Music Keeravani, VFX V Srinivas Mohan, Editing Sreekar Prasad, Costume Rama Rajamouli. It was released on March 25 last year. 1150 crores were collected at the box office.
