Oscars: India's own 'Naatu Naatu' bags best song award, 'Elephant Whisperers' wins award in Best Documentary Short Film category

LOS ANGELES: SS Rajamouli’s RRR created history by winning the Oscar for the song 'Naatu Naatu' for best original song. Music director M M Keeravani and Chandra Bose, who penned the song, received the award. Receiving the award, Keeravani said that he is presenting the award to India.

Meanwhile, Indian documentary film 'Elephant Whisperers' won the Oscar in the 'Best Documentary Short Film' category. Producer Guneet Monga along with director Kartiki Gonsalves took centre stage to accept the honour. This documentary is set in Muthumala National Park, Tamil Nadu. This short film tells the story of Boman and Belly who raise a baby elephant named Raghu.

Rahul Sipligunj and Kala Bhairava who sang the song Naatu Naatu performed the song at the Oscars ceremony. The two sang the song after actor Deepika Padukone spoke praising the song.
