Teacher lodges complaint against colleague for hurling abuses at her in front of students

IDUKKI: A teacher complained that her colleague misbehaved with her in front of the students. The complaint is against C M Shameem, senior assistant of Idukki Adimali Irumbupalam Govt L P School. A temporary teacher of the same school lodged the complaint stating that Shameem insulted her by calling her caste name and tried to insult her by tearing her clothes.

On the teacher's complaint, a case was registered against Shameem under the non-bailable section under the Prevention of Atrocities in Scheduled Castes/Tribes Act. However, he is on the run.

The incident related to the case happened on February 15. The complaint is that Shameem called her out of the class, called her caste name and insulted her and also tried to remove her shawl which she was wearing. The complaint said all this happened in front of the students. The complaint said that he tore her churidhar also. The teacher said an enmity in the workplace is the cause of the attack.

Meantime, the complainant and her family said they will stage a hunger strike in front of the school from next month onwards for not arresting him. The police said an investigation against Shameem is going on.
