24-year-old youth dies after falling in well while dancing during temple fest

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 24-year-old youth met with a tragic end after he slipped and fell into an unused well adjacent to the plot where a ganamela was held as part of the temple festival of Pappanamcode Melamcode Shree Muthumariamman Devi Temple. The accident happened while he was dancing to the songs. He has been identified as Jithu, son of Premkumar of Sankar Nagar near Ponnumangalam School and Latha.

The incident happened at 11 pm last night. He was taken out by the fire force and taken to the hospital, but his life could not be saved. Jithu’s friend Kukku, who tried to rescue him has been admitted to the hospital after he developed respiratory problems.
