Ruckus in assembly: Case against 14 ruling, opposition MLAs

protest

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have registered a case against the ruling and opposition MLAs in connection with the ruckus in the assembly. The Museum police registered a case against ruling MLAs Sachin Dev, H Salam and deputy chief marshal Moideen Hussain on the complaint of Chalakudy MLA Saneesh Kumar.

The watch and ward have also lodged a complaint against twelve opposition MLAs. A case has been registered against Anwar Sadath, Roji M John, K K Rema, Uma Thomas, P K Basheer and others. Non-bailable sections were imposed against the opposition MLAs.

The opposition MLAs had yesterday protested squatting in front of the Speaker's office. When the watch and ward was trying to pave the way for Speaker A N Shamseer from the house to office, additional chief marshal Moideen Hussai tried to push Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan down and this led to the ruckus. K K Rema was dragged across the floor by six watch and wards. Many MLAs including Mathew Kuzhalnadan, M Vincent and C R Mahesh were attacked. Nine watch and ward were also injured in the clash.
