KOCHI: President Draupadi Murmu arrived in Kochi for a two-day visit to Kerala. Governor Arif Muhammad Khan and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan received the President at the Nedumbassery airport. This is Draupadi Murmu's first visit to Kerala after becoming the President.
Murmu will attend the function of presenting the President's highest honour 'Nishan' to navy’s INS Dronacharya. She will visit navy's aircraft carrier and warship Vikrant. She will leave for Thiruvananthapuram from Kochi airport at 6.55 pm. She will land in the capital city at 7.40 pm and will stay at Hotel Hyatt Regency.
She will leave tomorrow morning at 8.35 am from Thiruvananthapuram Airport to Mata Amritanandamayi Mutt at Vallikavu in Kollam. Then she will reach Thiruvananthapuram and will inaugurate Kudumbashree's Rachana, Unnathi of backward welfare department and launch the Malayalam translation of engineering books. She will later attend a reception hosted by Governor at 7.30 pm.
She will leave for Tamil Nadu on March 18. She will pay tributes at Vivekananda Smarak and statue of Thiruvalluvar and visit the Vivekananda Kendra in Kanniyakumari. On the same evening, she will attend a civic reception to be hosted in her honour at Kavaratti.
