Man gets death penalty for rape and murder of 9-year-old girl

LUCKNOW: The court awarded death sentence to the accused who raped and killed a nine-year-old girl. The accused, a native of Modinagar, was convicted by the Ghaziabad POCSO court in Uttar Pradesh.

On August 18, 2022, the girl was found brutally raped and killed in Modinagar village. During the investigation, it was found that the accused was a resident of the same village. A case was filed against him for rape and murder charges. On August 18, the accused was found guilty in court. The court then imposed death penalty under sections 302, 363 and 376 of the IPC. The accused was convicted by a special POCSO court.

He is also accused in the case of raping and killing another six-year-old girl in Ghaziabad on December 1, 2022.
