THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday said in his written reply to the Legislative Assembly that he did not have any discussion with the UAE Consulate staff at his official residence regarding receiving aid from a foreign company called Red Crescent as part of the Life Mission project in Wadakkancherry. Minister MB Rajesh said that Life Mission has not received any aid from Red Crescent.

"No decision was taken to award the construction contract of the flat to Unitac Company. Life Mission has not signed MoU with Red Crescent. However, Unitac had submitted the plan for the housing complex to the Life Mission. Life Mission had given approval to UAE Red Crescent after verifying that it meets the Life Mission norms and specifications," MB Rajesh said.

"Habitat was chosen as the consultant in seven districts, including Thrissur, for the pilot housing complex directly implemented by Life Mission. There was no contract with Habitat for construction. Habitat Technology Group was excluded from the project management consultancy after it sent a letter stating that it was not interested in continuing due to a lack of knowledge in prefab technology," he added.
