Narrow escape for employees as cylinder explodes in Kudumbashree’s Janakeeya Hotel

PALAKKAD: A fire broke out in a hotel after a gas cylinder exploded. The cylinder exploded in Kudumbashree’s Janakeeya Hotel at Puthusseri in Palakkad. The employees were making food in the hotel when the accident happened. A major tragedy was averted as the employees ran out of the hotel.

The remains of the gas cylinder were found in a vacant plot about 200 meters away from the spot. In the impact of the explosion, some cracks developed in the office of a tractor agency nearby. The employees estimated a loss of Rs 1.5 lakh. The fire was doused by the fire force from Kanjikode.
