Khalistani hardliner Amrit Pal held; Punjab under security cover

JALANDHAR: Khalistani hardliner and Waris de Punjab chief Amrit Pal Singh got arrested today. It was after hours of search by the Punjab police that Singh was arrested from Nakodar. The police created a master plan with the involvement of officials from eight districts to join in “ operation Amrit Pal”.

Punjab meanwhile has blocked internet service till noon tomorrow to curb the spread of fake news. The police have also asked for patience and cooperation from the public to bring normalcy to the state.

It was on Saturday that the Punjab police unleashed the master plan to nab the Khalistani preacher and godman Amrit Pal Singh. As part of the operation, six of his accomplices were arrested in a covert operation. In Jallupur Khera, the hometown of Amrita Pal, security has been beefed up to prevent any kind of riots.

Earlier, Amrit Pal's close associate Love Preet was arrested after which the public and the admirers of the godman rummaged the Ajnala police station and released Lov Preet breaking all ounces of legal nous. After the incident, Amrit Pal showed enough cojones to threaten the central and state governments on various occasions.
