KOCHI: Kochi Mayor M Anil Kumar said that the National Green Tribunal (NGT) imposed a fine of Rs 100 crore without hearing the part of the Kochi Municipal Corporation. He also said that the Corporation will file an appeal against NGT's order.

"NGT imposed the fine without calculating the loss. This cannot be accepted. We will file an appeal challenging the order of the National Green Tribunal," Anil Kumar said.

"National Green Tribunal did not even consider the fact that the case is pending in the High Court. How did the NGT slap a fine of Rs 100 crore without calculating the loss due to the fire?" he asked.
