THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Pensions for housewives will soon be implemented in Kerala, according to CPM state secretary MV Govindan. He was speaking at the closing of the Janakeeya Prathirodha Jatha.

"Pension for housewives will be soon implemented in the state. It is not being implemented now due to the financial crisis. The problem is not the pension money, but the recognition," Govindan said.

Govindan said that Kerala will become a state without extremely poor people in three years. "Kerala is not adopting Ambani or Adani but poor families. Some people turned into groups and tried to destroy K Rail. I didn't mind criticisms against the march. Neither did the people," he said.

He also pointed out that the opposition is attacking Pinarayi personally. MV Govindan also alleged that the UDF is trying to thwart all development activities to prevent the Pinarayi government from coming to power for the third time.
