Balabhaskar's death: Lakshmi says that the car was speeding

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the car accident that killed violinist Balabhaskar and his daughter Tejaswini Bala, Balabhaskar's wife Lakshmi testified in court that the car was speeding. Arjun Narayanan, a native of Palakkad, who was driving the car was the only accused in the case. Lakshmi identified the accused. The case is being heard by Chief Judicial Magistrate K Vidyadharan. Lakshmi's statement is that the Innova car which was in Chalakudy at 12.15 am on the day of the accident caused an accident at Thiruvananthapuram Pallipuram. They went to Thrissur Vadakkumnath Temple to complete a vow made in the name of her daughter and returned on the 24th of September 2018 night after the pooja. On the 25th, the accident occurred at 3.30 am at Pallalipuram. After losing consciousness in the accident, she regained consciousness days later.

Lakshmi testified that there is no mystery that she and Balabhaskar were transferred from the medical college hospital to a private hospital. Lakshmi's brother Prasad also testified that he was the one who gave the information about the accident to the police. A case is registered against Arjun for negligent driving and involuntary manslaughter.
