If LoP who led Satyagraha in well of House is the worst LoP, I have two predecessors: VD Satheesan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Speaking to the media, opposition leader VD Satheesan said the opposition will not surrender to the state government's arrogance. "The opposition's fight is uncompromising and the government's statement that there is no negotiation is insolent", he said.

He also brushed aside Minister MB Rajesh's criticism that it is for the first time the opposition is staging a 'Satyagraha' in the well of the House.

The opposition declared 'Satyagraha' in the well of the House. Five members of the opposition, namely Anwar Sadat, Uma Thomas, TJ Vinod, Kurukkoli Moidheen and AKM Ashraf staged indefinite Satyagraha against the government. Members including the Speaker took turns insulting the opposition for staging such a strike.

A minister stood up and said that this is the first time in the history of the state that a satyagraha is being staged in the well of the House, and the Speaker supported this. The most interesting thing is that a Satyagraha was staged in the well of the House for the first time on October 21, 1974.

"If an opposition leader who led Satyagraha in the well of the House is the worst opposition leader, I am very happy to say that I have two more predecessors. The leader of the opposition who first announced Satyagraha in the well of Kerala Assembly was Comrade EMS. Ministers and the Speaker should review the history of the Legislative Assembly. I have another predecessor. In 2011, VS Achuthanandan staged a Satyagraha in the well of the House.", VD Satheesan said.
