Election commission case against Bishop Pamplany who supported BJP

KOCHI: Thalassery Archbishop Bishop Joseph Pamplany was a popular name for the tiff that happened between political parties during the last few days. Now a complaint has reached the election commission accusing the Bishop of spreading the wrong message of giving votes in favor of deeds. Malayala Vedhi president George Vattakulam made the complaint saying those words from Bishop put into question the democratic nous of the country.

In a meeting held at Alakode, Kannur, Bishop Pamplany made the controversial speech saying he will ensure a complete vote from the church faction to BJP if the central government increases the rubber price to Rs 300. After the speech got viral, the CPM and congress came will cannonballs of tirades against Pamplany for his tacit overreach towards the BJP. Later, to add further shock, Thamarassery bishop also came in support of Pamplany and said the community will vote for a party that works for the farming sections of the state.
