Covid cases increase in state, hospitals filled; experts warn about dangerous variant

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The number of people reaching hospitals in treatment for Covid is showing a rapid rise in the state. The government meanwhile is making moves for additional facilities to be established in medical colleges if there happens a sudden surge in the cases. Health experts have already warned about the new variant being dangerous enough to break all medical resistance hitherto practiced by the people. The health minister meanwhile has asked the state to adopt caution and has directed moves to make testing a normal one again.

According to the numbers, there has been a 10% rise in patients infected with Covid reaching hospitals. Medical colleges are moving forward with facilities to treat patients in need of any emergency. The medical bulletin from the hospitals in the state also confirms the increase in patient numbers coming with serious ailments of Covid.
