KOCHI: The High Court has granted relief in bail condition to a person accused in a POCSO case to participate in events abroad. A bench of Justice VG Arun granted relief to AM Naushad Bakhavi, a native of Chirainkeezhu, who is on anticipatory bail.

A case was registered by the Thrissur Cheruthuruthy police against him for allegedly abusing a minor girl. When the anticipatory bail was granted, there was a condition that he should not go out of Kerala without the court's prior permission. The petitioner approached the High Court seeking relief to attend a religious event held abroad in Manama and another in Sharjah.

A written assurance to return by March 30 and a bond of Rs 50,000 must be deposited in the trial court. The relaxation is subject to the condition of appearing before the investigating officer on the next day.
