THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 53-year-old Attipra native man knocked out the tooth of his son-in-law, who came to meet his children as per a court's order.

In the petition filed by the father demanding the custody of his five and one-and-half-year-old children, it was suggested that the mother should bring the children to the court on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month and show them to the father. Following this instruction, the 29-year-old Kulathoor native reached the family court yesterday to meet the children. As the children's mother is working in Malappuram, the father-in-law came to the court with the elder child, leaving out the younger child.

The father-in-law, following a verbal spat, assaulted the 29-year-old. The Vanchiyoor police have registered a case against the wife's father.
