Notorious thief who stole Rs 1,25,000 from scooter nabbed

VARKALA: Varkala police have arrested S Satish Kumar (42) alias Chinchilal Satish of Attingal Velarkkudi, who is accused in several theft cases in the state. He is accused in 17 theft cases in various stations.

Satish is also accused in the case of stealing Rs 1,25,000 from a scooter parked at Meva Convention Centre in Palachira, Varkala using duplicate key. As the vehicle number in which the thief arrived was not clear, the police identified him only after examining around 200 CCTV footage from various places where he is believed to have traveled.

He went to Malappuram after the theft and the police reached there in search of him. But he fled to Kottayam. The police caught him from a lodge in Kottayam at night. A team led by Sub-Inspector S Abhishek, Grade SI Salim, Franklin, SCPOs Brijilal, K Sudhir, CPOs Prashath Kumaran and Niju Mon arrested the accused as per instruction of DYSP CJ Martin.
