Man arrested for murdering wife and hiding body under bed

THODUPUZHA: A man identified as Vijesh has been arrested in the case of murdering his wife Anumol, a teacher. He was nabbed from the forest area near Kumily on the Tamil Nadu border. Vijesh was on the run after the body of his wife was found under the bed last Tuesday. His mobile phone was recovered from a forest on the Tamil Nadu border during investigation. The accused was arrested following a search conducted. The reason for the murder is not clear.

Anumol was a teacher of Jyoti Pre-Primary Shool at Pallikavala in Kanchiyar. She was in the school on Friday (March 17) and returned after completing all the arrangements for the school annual celebrations to be held the next day. However, she was found absent the next day.

Vijesh had called her parents and said that their daughter was missing. When they called, her phone was switched off. Though her parents reached home, Vijesh tried not to allow them to enter the bedroom. Later a missing complaint was filed.

When they called later, her phone rang for some time and then got disconnected. Her parents and brother reached the station to enquire the progress of the investigation. They later visited her house in the evening at 6 pm. Seeing the house locked, they broke opened the door and got inside and then there was a foul smell. Following that, a search was conducted and when removed the blanket, one of her hands was seen outside.
