NEW DELHI: PAN card is a very important document for financial transactions in India. The central government will soon implement restrictions that prevent the smooth usage of PAN cards. Those who have not updated their PAN card with the bank might face hassles.
It is always a good idea to check whether the PAN card has been updated as per the government guidelines. Because as per the government directive, only five days are left to link Aadhaar and PAN card.
PAN cards not linked with Aadhaar will become invalid after March 31, 2023 as per the instructions of the Central Board of Direct Taxes. Such persons will not be able to file income tax return or complete other works from April. They might also need to pay higher taxes and fines.
How to Link Aadhaar with PAN Card
PAN cards can be linked with Aadhaar by visiting the official website of Income Tax Department. Select Aadhaar from 'quick links on the left side of the website enter the required information. The PAN linking process can then be completed after verification through the received OTT.
