Innocent says wherever he goes seeking chance, they say one thing, later rode to Mysuru, do you know how much was his first remuneration?

KOCHI: Actor Innocent was so much devoted to films. In the beginning, he had walked a lot seeking chances. He got Rs 30 as his remuneration for acting in his first film Nrithasala. Rs 1500 was for paddy. That time the declared rate was Rs 15 for a day's work. If there is a dialogue, will get additional Rs 10. Innocent had once complained to the producer and director of the film Football Champion that he had a dialogue in it and has to get Rs 10 for it.

The director and producer went through the script to figure out the dialogue. The dialogue was Where is Vijayan...?. The producer of the film T E Vasudevan immediately gave him Rs 10, remembered Innocent. The actor also said that whenever he sees footballer I M Vijayan, he remembers this dialogue.

Innocent said that he continued in Madras till the film Nellu. Later, when had no films, starvation entered life. All the film companies he approached seeking chances said that paper work is going on, come later. Once he asked them is this a press where there is so much paper work. They chased me unharmed. With that, took a bus to his brother’s house in Mysuru.

Innocent later returned to the magical world of cinema in the early 80s. His roles in Mohan's films like Kochu Kochu Thetukal, Vida Parayum Munpe and Ormakkayi were noticed and he became popular after that.
