Committed theft to show off luxurious life on Instagram reels; 33-year-old social media influencer arrested

CHENNAI: A woman was arrested for stealing from a house that remained locked to show off her luxurious life on social media. The arrested person is Anisha Kumari (33), a native of Chennai. Anisha Kumari is a social media influencer. According to reports, the woman requested the police not to provide her photos and other information to the media as it may damage her reputation. The woman told the police that she committed theft to show off her luxurious life on social media reels.

The theft took place last week at a house in Buddhar Nagar near Perungalathur in Chennai. The woman entered the house when no one was there and stole three sovereigns of gold ornaments and 10,000 rupees. When the house owner returned, he found that the gold and money were missing. Following this, he and his wife went to the police station and lodged a complaint.

The police checked more than 30 CCTV cameras nearby and found that the theft was committed by a young woman who came on a scooter without a number. The stolen vehicle and the woman were later arrested.
