Bus carrying Sabarimala devotees including seven children falls into gorge, many critical

PATHANAMTHITTA: A bus carrying Sabarimala devotees falls into a gorge after losing control on the Ilavunkal-Erumeli road. The accident happened Tuesday afternoon at 1.15 pm at Ilavunkal near Nilakkal in Pathanamthitta. The Ayyappa devotees were from Tanjavur in amil Nadu.

The locals said there were 70 people including seven children. The devotees who met with the accident were returning after Ayyappa darshan. Reports said the condition of many including the driver are serious. The district collector has informed that all stranded in the bus have been taken out.

The injured have been admitted at Pathanamthitta General Hospital. Rescue operations were affected as there were not enough vehicles.
