Police deny permission for Congress protest in Red Fort; several leaders and workers taken into custody

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police on Tuesday denied permission for the protest at the Red Fort announced by the Congress against the order disqualifying Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as Lok Sabha MP. Several leaders, including Harish Rawat, and party workers were taken into police custody. Many MPs have also been taken into police custody.

MPs from Kerala also came to the protest wearing black clothes. MPs, including TN Prathapan and Dean Kuriakose, are in police custody. At the same time, the remaining MPs are going ahead with the protest by flashing their mobile flashlights and violating the ban.
