TIRUR: A couple due to harassment from their superiors have resigned from their government jobs. Livestock inspector Jaison of Tirunavaya Veterinary Hospital and his wife P S Anitha Mary, matron of an old age home in Tavanur, have resigned from their respective posts. The two were drawing a salary of more than Rs one lakh monthly.

Anitha had earlier lodged a complaint against her superior for misbehaving. However, she said that she did not get justice and was suspended after trapping her in a fake case.

Jaison said that he was harassed by a team led by some organizations of the department for intervening in his wife’s issue. Following that, he protested in front of the hospital. He was jailed for a week on the doctor’s complaint of manhandling.

The couple said they had filed a complaint with many including the chief minister but no action was taken. The resignation letter was sent after this. Jaison told media that they resigned considering their self-respect and would live by doing some small works.
