India reports over 3,000 Covid-19 cases for second consecutive day; huge spike in Kerala

NEW DELHI: India is witnessing a rise in the number of Covid-19 cases. 3095 fresh cases were reported in the last 24 hours. For the first time in the last six months, the daily number of cases in the country crossed 3000 yesterday. 3016 cases were reported on Thursday. There is also a huge rise in the number of daily cases in states of Kerala, Maharashtra and Delhi. Kerala recorded 765 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday. The number of cases reported were 686 and 332 on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

Maharashtra reported 694 fresh cases yesterday. It was 483 on Wednesday. In Delhi, the daily cases recorded rose from 153 on Sunday to 300 on Wednesday. Six deaths were reported on Tuesday. The death toll this week increased to 17. The doctors warned that the elderly and those who were affected by the virus before, are at higher risk. Currently, the total number of cases recorded in India is 13509. Experts have found that there is a possibility of the virus spreading in 44 districts from 18 states in the country.
