NEW DELHI: After the Gujarat High Court quashed a plea seeking education details of PM Modi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that an uneducated prime minister is a danger to the country. Kejriwal asked through social media whether the people of the country have no right to know about the Prime Minister's education. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on Kejriwal. This amount has to be deposited at the Gujarat State Legal Services Authority within four weeks.
“Doesn’t the country even have the right to know how educated their PM is? They were opposed to showing his degree in court. Why? Those who demand to see his degree will be fined? What is happening? An illiterate or less educated PM is very dangerous for the country.”, Kejriwal wrote on his Twitter account.
In 2016, the Central Information Commission directed the university to release the graduation certificate of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Information Commissioner asked the Right to Information Commission in the Prime Minister's Office to provide a copy of the certificate. The university then approached the High Court. But the court order is not to release the information of Modi's graduation certificate.
