Accused escapes after nabbing woman’s chain; stabs cops with beer bottle during arrest attempt

KOCHI: Two police officers were stabbed with a beer bottle while trying to catch thieves who nabbed a housewife’s chain. Traffic SI Arul and ASI Reji were injured.

Tamil Nadu natives Sairaj and Paul Kannan arrived in a bike and nabbed the woman's chain on Saturday morning. The woman filed a complaint in the police station. The bike in which the accused arrived had no number plate and the police have started search for them by inspecting the CCTV visuals.

The details about the accused were given to Traffic police and they identified the accused while they were travelling from Edappally to Palarivattom on the bike. They attacked the officers during the arrest attempt. Palarivattom police have arrested the accused.
